Riding my first wave!

When I was on vacation in Hawaii three years ago, a group of us went for a half-day surfing lesson. Granted, this was mostly for the kids – my nieces and nephews.

But my sister Roxanne convinced us grown-up kids to give it a try as well. Surprise! Surprise! We all managed to catch some waves!

Surfing is not just for a certain group of people; it’s for anyone who is willing to get wet, leave pre-conceived notions on the beach, and laugh like crazy.

Here’s where we took our lessons. The instructors were awesome!
